Internet gambling company shares continue to slide [Montag, 16. Oktober 2006]
The knives are still out for Israeli Internet gambling company shares. 888.com lost a further 2.8% on the London Stock Exchange following last week's 26% drop. 888's company employees rushed to implement their buying options. Empire Online lost a further 1% after losing 24%. Playtech's share prices remained unchanged, possibly because losing 41% of their value was enough of a downwards shift.
In response, 888 is stopping all its US activities (which will take its revenues back to 2004 levels) and like its compatriots is undertaking major strategic revisions. The most likely beneficiary is set to be the UK market, which is following a path of Online Gambing Regulation rather than Restriction.
