Las Vegas Palms to Host CEO Poker

The parallels between poker and business are readily apparent: both involve taking calculated risks, knowing your odds, and keeping a sharp eye on the competition.

A new Las Vegas tournament, called CEO Poker, will draw on these commonalities by bringing together the worlds of poker and business for five days of No- Limit Texas Hold 'Em at The Palms Casino Resort.
Dozens of CEOs, who will compete against professional poker players like Sam Farha, Jennifer Harman, Phil Gordon and Barry Greenstein, have already signed up for the Las Vegas tournament. The buy- ins for the tournament are priced to attract everyone from Fortune 500 CEOs to small business owners and entrepreneurs, ranging from $1,500 to $5,000. The entrants, however, are screened so that the tournament remains true to its theme.
Entrants say that they are excited for the opportunity to network with fellow business owners.
The poker tournament was organized by William Pereza Jr., a 32 year- old Miami- based business owner and self- described poker fanatic. Pereza and his partner Maria Gomez marketed the tournament using their own small marketing company, Reachon.com, and hope to expand the tournament into a televised series in the future.
The Palms Report has had a great deal of success with niche poker tournaments in the past. The casino recently played host to the wildly popular Celebrity Poker Showdown, which was watched on the Bravo channel by millions of viewers worldwide.
