Missouri Gaming Commission Head Takes Job in Private Industry

Missouri's head gambling regulatory agent has announced plans to leave his post.
Kevin Mullally, who has served as the executive director of the Missouri Gaming Commission for the past five years, has decided to leave the regulatory commission for a position in private industry.

Mullally will serve as an attorney and lobbyist for Gaming Laboratories International Inc.. Gaming Laboratories International is a New Jersey- based company that tests slot machines and other gambling paraphernalia for betting venues from around the world.
Mullally, who is 42 years old, said that he is happy to be leaving one job in gambling regulation for another job in gambling regulation.
Gaming Laboratories has offices in Las Vegas, Nevada, Golden, Colorado, Australia, Italy, South Africa and The Netherlands. Mullally said that he will remain in Jefferson City until his daughter graduates from high school in 2007, but will be traveling a great deal in his new position.
Under Mullally, Missouri was widely known as one of the toughest states when it came to regulating the gambling industry. Mullally said that he is proud of that fact, and aims to be tough but fair in all his dealings. He was one of the founders of the states Gaming Commission.
Before working at the Missouri Gambling Commission, Mullally worked for the state Senate as the chief of staff for Sen. Harry Wiggins, D-Kansas City. In fact, he worked for the state Senate throughout his undergraduate and law degrees.
