Pittsburgh Casino Construction On Schedule

It has been a few years since the Super Bowl Championship was won by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ironically it has been an equally long wait for the city of Pittsburgh to have a casino project completed.

Don Barden dreamt of bringing a casino to Pittsburgh. He already received the licenses needed and had even began the construction. Barden ran out of money, however, when the economy turn for the worst. Barden turned to billionaire Neil Bluhm when he was not able to come up with the funding to finish the casino project. After gaining approval of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, Bluhm took ownership of the project and the casino, and now the construction is moving along.
Bluhm hopes that he can open the casino with 3,000 slot machines before August. For Pittsburgh residents it has been a long wait, but now they see the finish line. Bluhm expects that when the casino is completed in 2011, all 5,000 slot machines will be in place at the River Casino.
Blhum is not only involved in the state with the Pittsburgh project. He is also trying to bring a casino to Philadelphia His plans, however, are being met with resistance unlike in Pittsburgh.
