Hope for Kansas Casino Gambling in the works

Democratic lawmakers now think there was a lot of bad judgement imposed on gambling, particularly in building state-owned casinos. In Kansas, this is one of the very infamous issues they always have to deal with.

It can be a real pain in the head for some Kansas corporations to get good deals from casino developers. Although state-owned casino gambling is legal in 4 counties in KS, only one casino in Dodge City is close enough to having casino gambling offered.
One reason is caused by no less than the $250 million-dollar upfront investment required by Kansas law.
Sometime in the past years, legislators passed a bill attempting to lower the mandatory upfront investment to $50 million. Unfortunately, that house bill did not get much support. It could have easily gotten the attention of top casino developers in the US.
As of this writing, three casino proposals were endorsed by Sumner County. If and when the state Lottery Commission approves of the proposals, Kansas is more or less going to see the economic and social benefits for casino communities.
