Know your Keno in online casinos

For many people Keno is an unfamiliar casino game. What may surprise many people to learn is that online Keno is actually quite similar to the familiar Lotto game. The rules are straightforward - so beginners can get up to speed quickly. Note, however that Keno has a relatively high house advantage, sometimes up to almost 30% percent!

There are three main components in a keno online game: 1) the keno ticket; 2) the ball hopper or cage and 3) a display board. Almost every winning combination for keno has odds greater than 10:1 and most are in the 100:1 range or beyond. Offline players will go to the 'Keno Lounge' within a casino, while online players will click on the Keno area of the casino site.
How much is paid in each round is determined by three factors: 1) how much the player wagers; 2) how many keno numbers the player selects; and 3) how many selected numbers actually hit the numbers that the Keno machine selects (stars).
As the player selects numbers before the round begins, the area to the left of the number grid on the keno machine describes the player's possible payout according to the number of hits the player may receive in the round. When the round is complete, the number of hits (stars) the player has received in the round is shown to the right of the number grid on the Keno machine. The total amount of the player's winnings in the most recent round or series of consecutive rounds is displayed under "Winnings" in the area to the lower left of the player's machine's number grid.
When the final round is complete, the numbers that were selected will remain on the player's machine's number grid in case the player wish to bet on the same numbers in the next round or series of consecutive rounds. If the player wishes to change the player's numbers, he or she simply clicks on the individual numbers to remove them and select new numbers.
When finishing playing online Keno, there's the option for cashing out. The player receives his/her credits in the machine by clicking on the player's casino balance card to the right of the machine. The money will be returned to the player's total credit balance.
