Las Vegas Poker Scene is Booming
[Thursday, March 09, 2006]
The poker craze has its influence on everybody and everything and Las Vegas is no exception.
Everywhere on the Vegas strip, casinos are opening new poker tables and enlarging their properties to be able to match the massive poker room demand.
In the spring, the famed Venetian will launch one of Vegas' largest poker rooms. This poker room will take up 10,000 square feet of space and the walls of the hall will be decorated with 21 super size plasma televisions. The limit poker games will start as low as $4 or $8, but their will also be high stake areas, where the high rollers can enjoy gourmet dining and exclusive butler services.
Another Vegas giant, Treasure Island, expects to open a brand new poker room in the beginning of April and is already looking for professional poker dealers on the internet. The Treasure Island Casino had a poker room before, but closed it in the late nineties. Interesting fact is that the CEO of this casino, John Strzemp, finished second in the world-famous World Series of Poker in 1997.
The Vegas poker room enthusiasm all started in March 2005, when the MGM grand started its' own poker pavilion. After this, other casinos followed in speedy pace including the Wynn, Caesars Palace in June 2005, Las Vegas Hilton in September 2005 and the Stratosphere in June 2005. Besides this, there were also many casinos re-opening poker rooms that were closed for years.
Now, a few other casinos also joined the poker party among them the Paris Las Vegas, Hooters Casino and even the small O'Sheas casino started to offer poker tournaments to its visitors
