All Or Nothing
|
A keno ticket that only pays if all picked numbers are drawn or no selected numbers are drawn.
|
|
Call
|
The process of announcing the keno balls as they are drawn.
|
|
Catch
|
One of your selected numbers was selected by the Keno machine
|
|
Close
|
The moment the casino stops writing keno tickets. For example, right before the draw, the betting "closes" out.
|
|
Exacta
|
A keno ticket which is good for two games, offering a special payout.
|
|
Free Play
|
A keno ticket that allows you to play "free" the next time. There is no cash payout.
|
|
Handle
|
The amount of money the casino "handles". For example, the amount it pulls in from keno games over a particular period.
|
|
High End Ticket
|
A keno ticket that pays more for a high number of matching spots, but less (or nothing) for matching fewer spots (compared to a standard keno ticket).

|
High Roller Ticket
|
Generally, the keno tickets that carry the highest minimum bets.

|
Hit
|
A number marked on the keno ticket that matches a drawn number.
|
|
Hold
|
The portion of the handle (casino money taken in) the casino keeps after paying off all winners.
|
|
House Edge
|
The percentage advantage that the house has over the player in keno, usually around 30%.
|
|
House Percentage
|
The percentage advantage that the house has over the player in keno, usually around 30%.
|
|
Keno
|
A lottery game, originating in ancient China. In modern keno, the house draws 20 numbers out of 80 possible. Keno players have to mark their tickets with numbers they believe the house will draw.

Keno Board
|
Also known as the "Big Board," it displays the winning keno numbers on your computer screen.
|
|
Left-Right Ticket
|
A keno ticket where the player bets on whether numbers drawn will be on the left side or right side of the ticket.
|
|
Number Pool
|
The range of numbers from which you select the keno numbers you want to play. A typical keno pool ranges from 1 to 80.
|
|
Pay Table
|
A payout schedule detailing the payoffs for each individual winning scenario.
|
|
Payoff
|
The amount of money a player gets paid when they win (keno payout).
|
|
Progressive
|
A keno game where the top prize increases until it is won. The progressive keno prize may increase by a percent of money bet, a set amount per time period, or any other way the casino sets.

Random Number Generator (RNG)
|
A machine that selects numbers at random for a keno game.
|
|
Spot
|
The number that a player has marked on a ticket.
|
|
Straight Keno
|
The standard, or basic keno game, played by marking individual numbers on a keno ticket.

Video Keno
|
Keno which is played on an electronic machine, and which moves faster than live keno. This is online keno.

Way Ticket
|
A keno ticket that groups different numbers to create more than one way to win keno.
