Swede wins 550,000 Euro in European Poker tournament

Magnus Petersson, a 29-year-old financial advisor from Stockholm, kept a cool head to win over 4 million four million Danish Kroner (approximately 550,000 Euro) at this year's European Poker Tour tournament in Copenhagen. He won his 5,000 Euro seat in a $475 PokerStars online satellite tournament.

Pitched against some of the best poker players around, Petersson powered past top-rank players like TJ Cloutier, Marcel Luske, Tom McEvoy and Isabelle "No Mercy" Mercier. The European Poker Tour was a four-day event that attracted 400 players and had a total prize pool of more than 13 million Danish Kroner (approximately 1,855,000 Euro). Second place went to "Elky" Grospellier from Nancy, eastern France, who won 2,308,608 Danish Kroner (approximately 309,955 Euro).
The European Poker Tour continues, first to Dortmund, then Warsaw and finally at the Monte Carlo Grand Final. All these events take place in March 2007. Thanks to his Copenhagen win, Petersson gets a 10,000 Euro seat in Monte Carlo.
